A day in the life...

We took advantage of our day off together and visited Beaufort, NC. We had breakfast and enjoyed looking in all of the cute little shops along the water. We took a ferry to Shackleford Banks, a 9-mile long island off the coast just south of Cape Lookout. It was so cool to see the wild horses!! For those of you who don't know, these horses are descendants of Spanish horses of 400 years ago who swam ashore off sinking ships. They are one of the last isolated groups of wild horses in the U.S. If any of you seen the movie Nights in Rodanthe (which takes place in NC), these are the wild horses they talk about. Shackleford is also one of the best shelling destinations along the East Coast. We were on a tight time schedule so we were only able to spend an hour there, but we found some pretty cool shells. Can't wait to go back during the summer when we have more time, it's warmer, and we actually stay overnight and camp there! Beautiful day! Enjoy the pictures!
