Toby Keith
A few days ago Toby Keith visited the base that Ben is on in Afghanistan. He played 5-6 songs, took pictures with the guys, and signed autographs. Ben and a few guys from his team took a picture with him. And he was also able to get an autographed picture of Toby for Brookie.Ben said it was really cool and a nice break from the daily "bump and grind!"
Toby Keith has visited the troops many times over the years. When Ben was in Iraq Toby visited the base where he was at but Ben was away from the base doing work so he missed it. This is the first time in 8 deployments that Ben has met one of the celebrities that visited the base.
We're happy for him just because it was a nice break from the usual over there. And we have so many freedoms and luxuries here that he misses on a daily basis...his bed, good food, his own TV, his lounge chair...ya know, the stuff we take for granted every day!
Well I'm fricking jealous. I want to take a picture with Toby. Glad to hear you're doing fine. We all miss you and pray for your safety home.

That's awesome he does this and great that Ben got to see it this time. His as well as all the other marines...are definitely appreciated for ALL they do! We will continue to pray for their safe return as well as survival for you with drivers ed starting (esp. when it's time to be behind the wheel) - YIKES!!!
