A day in the life...

Brooke and the girls and boys Swansboro Pirates Cross Country team went to the state meet yesterday at Tanglewood Park in Winston-Salem. They took their top 7 runners from the boy's and girl's team...6 runners and 1 alternate. Brooke went as #6. They all did wonderful but we are especially proud of our young lady! For those of you who don't know, the race is 3.2 miles. Brooke ran her fastest time ever!! 24:14~~~~~yay, Doodle! You go, Girl!! She actually passed 3 girls on her team that she has never passed before. So our #6 turned into #3!!! Brooke started the season with her fastest time being 30:00 from last year's state meet (she went as an alternate and ended up running). So our little chick-a-dee has cut 5 minutes and 46 seconds off her run time this season!
Winter track begins in 2 weeks and our little long distance runner will be doing great things!
