April 2007, Ben and Myron, a good friend of ours, built a 12x24 awning to the back of our house. We have an existing 10x12 patio under it (original part of the house) but have been wanting to expand it so that the patio extends under the entire awning. With some help from friends (thanks Mark & Joshua!!!), it's finally finished! Now friends/chairs won't be cramped on the small patio or falling over in their chairs on the uneven ground (haha! yes, it has happened!) when we have get-togethers. The sun sets on the front of our house, which makes the backyard shady and cool even in the summer. And we have a little help from our outdoor ceiling fan :) We love it!
